Hi, I’m Raquel…your compassionate educator and ally in birth and breastfeeding.

As a Certified Lactation Counselor and Accredited Childbirth Educator, I consider it a privilege to serve and hold space for couples as they walk this new journey in their lives…without judgement, with patience, and with practical steps to help them decide what is best for their babies and themselves.

For me, birth and breastfeeding knowledge is just part of my being. I call it my “soul work”, the work I’m meant to be doing for my community that it part of my life’s purpose. It ignites me to answer all the questions couples have and share current, evidence-based information to help them plan for their births and postpartum.

Whether birthing at home, a birth center, or the hospital, I ask the hard questions and encourage you to take time to reflect and discuss what’s important for your birth, your parenting journey, and more.

I don’t believe in pain-free birthing. If you’re considering a natural birth, you need to know what to expect, have tools to help you cope with the discomfort, and a supportive birth team.

But maybe you’re planning on a medicated, hospital birth…using all the resources available. I want you to know more about these resources and when to best use them.

I want dads/partners to know and understand how they can be a supportive and present part of the birth process, not just watching from the corner of the room.

My Mission: I believe that by impacting one family, it causes a ripple effect.  If I can help a mother/couple feel prepared for their birth, and have the tools and knowledge that can lead them to a non-traumatic experience...this frees up emotional space for:

  • the mother to bond with her baby and have an easier time learning to breastfeed

  • the partner to feel like an active, present support person in the birth of their child and taking on that role afterwards as well

By educating parents and giving them permission to CONNECT and get in tune with their baby...this baby will have a better stress response (research shows this) and from this connection, parents can more easily offer kind, gentle parenting. Imagine what happens when this child has their own babies? They will epigenetically be “ahead of the game”!
